Who they are & what they do
Eyes of Hope Stoughton provides young people with programs that advance their academic, social and emotional development, encouraging them to become lifelong contributors to the community and the world.
We have two programs:
Hope Grows Children’s Garden is rooted in the belief that gardening can transform individuals and society for the betterment of all. Gardening teaches kids where their food comes from and promotes healthy eating habits. It gives kids the opportunity to practice responsibility, leadership, and teamwork. Volunteers can help support the growing plants and/or the growing children through programming.
Hope Tutors has a simple mission: A FREE tutor for every student who wants one. Studies show that kids who have access to a tutor or mentor have significantly better social, mental and academic outcomes than kids who do not. Our belief that every child who wants a tutor should have one, at no cost. We train interested community members to be powerful mentors who build connection, well-being, and achievement for the students they tutor and mentor – and for themselves.
We envision a community where every young person has access to the resources and relationships that are needed for them to thrive. Through reciprocal relationships with caring adult mentors, youth are supported to learn, grow, and share their gifts and skills with the community.
